About "The SanDiego

Korean Pungmul School"

"Supports and preserves the identities

of our future generations

byhaving them learn about the glorious spirit

of our Korean ancestors

andexperience a variety

of traditional Korean musical culture.

We will pass this culture down to

our youth by teaching Pungmul

(musical play),

Minyo (folk song) and Talchum (mask dance).

We play a variety of Korean traditional instruments,

such as Kwangari(small gong),

Jing(large gong), Janggu(hourglass-­‐shape drum),

Buk(barrel drum), Sogo(small hand-­‐held drum),

and Taephyungso(Korean trumpet).

Activities / Outcomes:

• Earn community service

hours and certificates

by participating in practices

and performances.

• Participate in the San Diego

River Park Foundation
