경찰에게 티켓 받았는데 어떻게 할지?
연휴 마지막 일요일에 LA에서 돌아오다가,
Calsbad근처에서 오토바이를 탄 경찰에게 속도 위반 딱지를 받았습니다.
65마일 존이얻는데, 77마일로 달렸다는군요.
그래서 제가 Speed gun으로 measure한 레코드를 보여달라고 했더니
자기가 guess한 것이라고 하면서 ticket를 주더군요
그리고 court에 내년 1/27에 나와서 상황설명을 하라고 합니다.
질문:
1. 꼭 Court에 나가서 설명해야 하나요? 어떤사람은 메일로 써서 보내는
방법도 있다고 하던데.. 혹시 그런 방법이 있나요?
2. 만약에 Court에 가서 제가 질경우 벌금은 어는정도 내야 할까요?
3. 이런경우 DMV에 신고되고 보험금이 올라가나요?

May want to check the DMV handbook. I believe you can still be ticketed based on the officer's estimate of speed. (If he/she believes that you were speeding.) Remeber that in the "eyes of the court", the officer is an expert regarding the traffic laws. It will be very difficult for you to disprove his expert knowledge; however, you may still try. Only way to prove that you were not speeding is you need to have a SOLID EVIDENCE, or if the officer does not show up on the court date then your case will be dismissed.

The officer CAN NOT "GUESS" the speed of a car and give a ticket. They have to PROVIDE THE BEAT OF RADAR USED TO DETERMINE THE SPEED AND THE SOURCE IF YOU CONTEST AND REQUEST IT.
