We The Redeemed (WTR), the English Ministry of San Diego Korean United Presbyterian Church is looking for a full time pastor to lead our church and join our Senior Leadership team. He must be a pastor who loves God and shares a dream of building a healthy church that glorifies God, equips God’s people, and blesses the nations. 

Church Description: 

- WTR is the English speaking congregation of Korean United Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) and is located in Mira Mesa in San Diego County. The church is a growing church community with church attendance of 50 congregants, made up of mostly young adults and college students, committed and serving in various ministries. Our mission is to reach the lost and make disciples of Jesus Christ through House Church, and our vision is the restoration of the New Testament Church. We value people having a Genuine Encounter with God, a Radical Transformation through His Holy Spirit, a Covenant Community of believers, and a commitment to God’s Unceasing Mission. 

Key Responsibilities:

- Preaching and Teaching: Preach and teach the members regularly, through the Bible. 

- Shepherding: Shepherd and guide the church, especially the leaders and members, through pastoral care, visitations, and counseling. 

- Collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team: Work with the leadership team of the Church to carry out the vision and mission of the Church.

- Evangelistic: Our ideal candidate is someone who has a heart to reach the lost and help the church be evangelistic in their communities. 

- Spirit-filled: Our ideal candidate is someone who exercises their spiritual gifts, and has experienced the filling of the Holy Spirit.

- Missional Passion: Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about both local and global missions and desires to raise up both senders and goers. 

Key Relationships: 

- KUPC Leadership: Pastor would work regularly with the elders and staff of Korean United Presbyterian Church to help build a strong KM-EM relationship.

- WTR Senior Leadership: Pastor would work with WTR’s senior leadership team to help carry out the vision and mission of WTR.

- WTR House Church Shepherds: Pastor would be a shepherd and overseer over the shepherds of WTR, who are members of WTR who lead and care for different House Churches within the Church.

- WTR Membership: Pastor would care for and guide the members of WTR. 

Qualifications: 

- Education: Master of Divinity or equivalent / higher degree from an accredited seminary. 

- Competency: Ideal candidate is someone who has demonstrated commitment and consistency (preferably, at least 5 years) to a local church community.

- Experience with Adult / Young Adult Ministry: Ideal candidate is someone who has experience leading and serving with adults, young adults, and/or college students.
